Crystal Bay is the Language and Cultural Instructor at Iohahi:io.  Mrs. Bay coordinated and facilitated the Early Childhood Education students to participate in a two-day ribbon skirt workshop, which took place on February 26 and March 5.  Marlana Thompson-Baker, owner of Okwaho Creations, was invited to teach the students how to make their own ribbon skirts from start to finish. The ECE students were given the opportunity to choose from a variety of materials and ribbons to create a finished skirt. The students expressed that they would wear their creations for graduation. Crystal will be having another ribbon skirt workshop for the Pathways to Indigenous Empowerment and Carpentry programs in the near future.

Nia:wen to Crystal and Marlana for facilitating this event for the students!
